Your Responsibilities

Together with other youth leaders, you will organize, lead, and plan open youth center activities. Your work is characterized by a holistic view, inclusion, and responsibility. You are a good adult role model who easily builds relationships and can create positive dialogue with young people.

The open youth center is a drug-free environment where young people feel safe, valued, and have meaningful leisure activities.

The mobile youth center targets young people aged 10–16 years and aims to promote their health, motivations, and interests, allowing them to feel safe, valued, and engaged in meaningful leisure activities.

The work is largely outreach-based. Together with the youth, you will create arenas where they are. You will work on mentoring and coaching young people while leading and creating activities with them.

Mejeriet UNG is the open meeting place for youth in Västervik city and part of the Mejeriet Youth & Cultural House. The activities consist of an open youth program for ages 13–19 and a café that is open to all ages.

As a youth leader at Mejeriet UNG, you will also work in the café and provide service to tenants and visitors in the building. The job also involves collaboration with others who work for and with youth, such as community organizations.

An approximate division of work for the position is 75% Mobile Youth Center and 25% Mejeriet Ung.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a trained youth leader or has other education deemed suitable by the employer. You have previous experience with similar tasks involving children and youth.

A valid driver's license (B) is required for the position.

You are open, social, and responsible, and you serve as a good role model for young people. You are a confident person who can adapt your approach to the situation at hand. You are lively and full of fun ideas. You are skilled in handling social media, and most importantly, you have the desire to be there for the youth in Västervik Municipality. You will mentor and coach young people while also being responsible for organizing and leading your own activities.

The job requires a high degree of personal maturity, the ability to drive your work forward, and a good ability to collaborate with others. We also value flexibility as you may need to quickly adapt to changing circumstances.
